Colver, Sim and Buesink Victorious at Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / FLAMBORO SPEEDWAY – MILLGROVE, ONT – If you witnessed the action on Saturday afternoon in the Mini Trucks and Jr Late Models, you would have been assured that the future of motorsports is in good hands with lots of talented drivers.

Mason Colver proved his in the first Mini Truck feature, taking the lead at the halfway mark after a stellar battle through the first 10 laps with Kevin Stark. Hayden Sim made his way through the traffic to second at the same time Colver took the lead, but was never able to make the move to get the top spot for himself. Caleb Goertz completed the podium ahead of Quinn Goetz and Kevin Stark.

Carson Sim, who has won several truck races previously, was sixth this time around in front of Del Freiburger, Dylan Graham, Nik Thuss, and Tyson Fiest. Keisha Zimoch, Alexander Klotz, and Rick Basket rounded out the field of 13.

The second feature saw another great battle at the top of the field, with the Sim family sweeping the top-two spots as Hayden Sim led Carson Sim across the finish line. Quin Goetz was third this time around ahead of Caleb Goertz and Alexander Klotz.

Rick Basket came out better this time around, placing sixth in front of Nik Thuss, Kaisha Zimoch, Kevin Stark, and Del Freiburger. Mason Colver did not fair as well, scoring an 11th-place finish, followed by Tyson Fiest and Dylan Graham.

Judah Buesink was a man on the mission, picking up the Jr Late Model feature win ahead of Grayson Masson, Miya Ford, Paiton Hamilton, Broday Coates, and Hunter Fiest.

 

Mitch Wright Scores Dominating Frostoberfest Legend Victory

In an event that saw the best of both the Ontario Legend Car Series and Great Lakes Legend Car Series come together, Mitch Wright showed why he is one of the fastest drivers in the province with a dominating victory at Frostoberfest.

Wright found his way to the lead at Flamboro Speedway with 12 laps to go, pulling away from the field en route to picking up the checkered flag. 705 Racing teammates Jade Franklin and Jordan Latimer completed the podium after pacing the opening laps.

Cole McFadden and Matt Boyes rounded out the top-five ahead of Adam Cuthbertson, Robbie Sikes, Keaton Pipe, Austin Arnel, and Wesley Cuthbertson.

Andrew McFadden was 11th, followed by Paul Pierik, Gibson Baker, Zach Hatch, Caleb Drimmie, Cole Kamrath, Lonnie Scott, Kevin DeBoer, Bob Bailey, Todd Tolton, and Joe Russ. Joe Adams, Dawson Drimmie and Matt Thompson failed to finish after an incident in turn three.
