Story By: MIKE LEONE / RUSH RACING SERIES – PARKERSBURG, WV – The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants is excited to announce the addition of a Mid-Ohio Valley Championship Series for the 2025 season!
Dave Poske’s Performance Parts will present the new Series, which to start will include all RUSH Late Model events at Tyler County Speedway, Muskingum County Speedway, and Ohio Valley Speedway with additional speedways in the West Virginia and southern Ohio to possibly be added.
The goal of the program is to expand and nurture RUSH Late Model racing in the Mid-Ohio Valley. A minimum points fund of $6,650 for the top 10 RUSH member drivers has been established. In addition, Dave Poske’s Performance Parts will present a loyalty program that will award one lucky racer a $1,000 Poske’s gift certificate! Specifics of the points fund and loyalty program will be announced at a later date.
Tyler County Speedway has been part of RUSH for the last three years hosting City Chevrolet Weekly Series events and scheduling two to three Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series events annually. For 2025, the RUSH Late Models will continue to be part of Tyler County’s weekly program under their new promotional team led by Doug Doak and Scott Jenkins. Tyler County is expected to host two Tour events in 2025. Having Tyler County now part of the stand alone Mid-Ohio Valley Series will be an added bonus for their racers.
The Moran Family’s Muskingum County Speedway got the ball rolling in 2024 by adding the RUSH Late Models to all of their scheduled events. Seven events were completed with an amazing seven different winners from five states, and showcased just how competitive the division is!
“Muskingum coming on board in 2024 created a great deal of interest for the RUSH Late Model program in the Mid-Ohio Valley area,” stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. “It has definitely set the foundation for a strong and viable Chevrolet Performance Crate Late Model program in this region into the future.”
Tyler County and Muskingum’s 2025 events will also continue to be part of the valuable City Chevrolet National Weekly Series and the City Chevrolet Track Pack as the top six RUSH member racers will share in $2,500 with $1,000 going to the champion at each track.
Ohio Valley Speedway is owned by Rich Michael, Jr., who is the brother of New York RUSH Late Model veteran Andy Michael and uncle to 2024 RUSH Stock Car Champion Kaedan Michael. Ohio Valley had a much anticipated first ever RUSH Late Model event scheduled in 2024 as a $4,000 to-win Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series event presented by Dave Poske’s Performance Parts; however, that event, along with the three scheduled for Tyler County Speedway were all rained out. For 2025, Ohio Valley is expected to host four RUSH Late Model events including a Tour event.
“We can’t thank these speedways and Todd Frye from Poske’s Performance Parts for helping put this program together to continue to grow the RUSH Late Model concept throughout this region,” added Emig. “The Mid-Ohio Valley Series will allow drivers from this area to have a much larger schedule of events without having to do much travelling as well as their own Championship program to compete in while at the same time being able to utilize their finishes in our other Weekly Series programs. I look forward to actively speaking with other promoters in the MOV region to possibly add additional events.”
The 2025 RUSH Late Model Mid-Ohio Valley Championship will be based on RUSH member drivers’ best ‘X’ number of finishes amongst all scheduled events (both Weekly and Touring) in this region. These drivers will also be eligible to earn point fund monies in the City Chevrolet National Weekly Series Championship that pays the top 40 drivers $27,525, City Chevrolet Track Pack at Tyler County and Muskingum, and 3C Graphix Futures Cup for those eligible racers, and of course take part in the Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series Championship. Approximately $150,000 in cash point funds will be up for grabs for RUSH racers in 2025!
Dave Poske’s Performance Parts presented the “Feel the RUSH” Four-Wide Salute at all Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series events in 2024 and were to present the Independence Day weekend Tour events at Tyler County and Ohio Valley.
