Scotty Thiel & Premier Motorsports Continue To Build Momentum Since Teaming Up

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / PREMIER MOTORSPORTS – SHEBOYGAN, WI – Molding a new team takes time and patience, and although Thiel and Premier Motorsports are still a new combination in the open wheel world, the results are already beginning to speak for themselves, highlighting the recent weekend with a 14th-place score in Attica Raceway Park’s competitive Core & Main Spring Nationals finale on Saturday, April 15.

In all, Thiel, powered by Walker’s Game Ear, Lumber & Things, Professional Plating, Scott Thiel Builders, Stealth Cam, Muddy Outdoors, Lutes Custom Cabinetry, Linc Systems, and Complete Water Inc, put together a sound evening in the Buckeye State, opening the program with the 16th-fastest qualifying time of 30 entries followed by a fourth-place performance during his respective heat race. “Big Wheel” would go on to line up 12th on the evening’s $6,000-to-win grid.

The Sheboygan, Wisconsin, native opened Attica’s All Star doubleheader with a 20th-place score on Friday; he started 18th.

“In all, an OK weekend for our team. Had our hands full with the slick…haven’t quite adapted to the ‘ohio slick’ yet, but we’re getting closer,” Thiel explained. “That was my first full race at Attica. I was there prior, but only had the opportunity to turn a few laps before the rain came. Regardless, We’re making improvements, but I still made some mistakes. The big thing is working on our qualifying effort so we’re not buried to start the night.

“Definitely can’t thank Pete Grove enough for the opportunity,” Thiel added. “Would love to go out and get him a win sooner than later.”

Although the coming weekend is still uncertain, the “Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Premier Motorsports will continue their 2023 All Star Circuit of Champions campaign with a weeknight visit to Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Thursday, May 4. Dubbed The Night the Stars Come Out, the Thursday night showdown, also featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, will award a $10,000 payday.
