Salute To Law Enforcement, Fire & EMS Night Set For May 20th At Woodhull Raceway

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Law Enforcement groups in the Steuben County area along with Reapers Forestry Mulching will join forces to sponsor the Annual Salute to Law Enforcement Night at the Woodhull Raceway.

“We have a great relationship with all our Police agencies, Fire Departments and EMS Services throughout Steuben County, stated Woodhull Raceway owners, Terry and Niki Brewer. Each year we would like to recognize the people who in most cases are volunteers of their local fire and rescue departments. The police do not get the respect they deserve as they put their lives on the line every time they go to work. This night is for them!”

Police, Fire and Rescue and EMS personnel from across the greater Steuben County region will converge on the Woodhull Raceway to be a part of this annual tradition and they are welcome to bring their cruisers, fire trucks and ambulances to the track for display purposes for the fans in attendances.

It is unknown at this time if the local Medivac Helicopter will be making a landing at the facility like it has in years past.

On the race track it will be another night of great race action as the Wicked Tee’s Mini Stocks will take center stage as the popular rear wheel driven class will compete in the thirty lap Mini Monster $1,000 to win feature challenge.

According to the Brewer’s, “The Wicked Tee’s Mini Stocks have been a mainstay at this track for 30 years or more. The class has provided great competition over the years, and we felt like the drivers should get to race for serious money.”

In addition to the Mini Stock Monster Challenge, on the card it will be the Insinger Performance Mighty Modifieds, the NAPA 602 Crate Sportsman, the Doug Gross Construction RUSH Late Models along with the Southern Tier Customs Classy Street Stocks.

The KMD Excavating Hobby Stocks as well as the Wicked Tee’s FWD and Youth Warriors will also be on the card plus the NYPENN IMCA Modifieds make a return to the high banks of Woodhull after a decade long absence.

Led by Jake Maynard and a well-oiled machine of resolute staff members including the likes of Todd Burgess, Morgan Colegrove and Ashley Landolf, the NYPENN IMCA Modifieds are excited to return to Woodhull for a $1,000 to win show. At one time the IMCA Modifieds were a part of Woodhull’s weekly program until car counts across the region began to dwindle. Now, with Maynard at the controls he and his team have put a shot of new energy into the touring series and a healthy car count is expected at Woodhull including the likes of Rich Michael Jr. who has thousands of laps and dozens of wins the famed Steuben County Oval after competing at the track when the IMCA Mods ran weekly

Main Grandstand gates open at 4:30 with hot laps at 5:30 and the first green flag of the night waving at 6:30 pm.

In addition to the local Canisteo Law Police Club, Reaper’s Forestry Mulching will return after an earlier season washout.

Raper’s should be your first call when it comes to land clearing, grubbing, brush mulching and trail advancement.

Celebrating fifty-eight consecutive years of great racing action, the Woodhull Raceway is located on Cr. 102 just off RT. 417 in Woodhull, NY.
