Dietrich Impressive In Ohio / Pennsylvania Crisscross; All Star Sweep Starts At Bridgeport

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – It was a busy stretch for Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich, not only joining car owner Randy Gass in a High Limit Sprint Car Series start at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 16, but continuing on with Gary Kauffman Racing starts at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 19, Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, on Saturday, May 20, and BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, May 21.

When the dust settled, “Double-D” found himself with three top-tens in four starts, just missing the top-ten during High Limit competition with an 11th-place score. The finish could have been much more, but Dietrich was penalized at the start for being tardy to the A-Main; he would start 22nd.

Rebounding for three straight top-ten scores, Dietrich would race on to finish sixth at the famed Williams Grove Speedway, ninth during World of Outlaws competition at Sharon, and third during Sunday’s invasion of BAPS Motor Speedway. Dietrich started eighth on the Outlaw grid at Sharon, utilizing a runner-up performance during his respective heat race to qualify for the evening’s dash.

“We wanted a little bit more out of this weekend, but overall, it’s hard to be disappointed with solid finishes, especially at Sharon against the Outlaws. Our last minute decision to head west worked out pretty well,” Danny Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, said. “Hats off to my guys for their hard work this weekend. There are a lot of long weeks and weekends in the near future, but I have a great group who will make it possible.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with a four-race All Star slate through New Jersey and Pennsylvania, all of which kicking-off with a stop at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, New Jersey, on Thursday evening, May 25. Action will then continue with a visit to the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday, May 26, followed by the Bob Weikert Memorial doubleheader at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28. The first three events will award $10,000-to-win capped with the $29,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial finale.
