Mike Bradley Goes Back-To-Back In Outlaw Midget Series Action; Wins At Peterborough

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OUTLAW MIDGET RACING CLUB – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – With a caution coming in the late stages, Mike Bradley was able to get a good restart, and take his second consecutive Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil victory at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday night.

Nick Spiez picked up his first heat victory in front of Mike Bradley, Rob Harrison, Kayla Semple, Jason Semple, and Russ Couture.

Dave Bradley won the second qualifier ahead of Derek Millman, Jason Metcalfe, and Larry Lawson.

Mike Bradley returned to the winner’s circle in the third heat, followed by Spiez, Harrison, Kayla Semple, Jason Semple, and Couture.

Larry Lawson won the final qualifier in front of Dave Bradley, Millman, and Metcalfe.

Come feature time, Mike Bradley kept himself in contention throughout the duration of the event, taking chances at trying to grab the top spot as the drivers weaved through traffic. He was unable to do so, remaining in second until the caution came out in the final five laps. His experience paid off, as he got a good restart to take the lead and pace the final laps en route to victory.

Rob Harrison put together a career-best second-place finish, with Jason Metcalfe rounding out the podium in his first appearance of 2023. Mikey Homewood missed the qualifying heats as he worked out the gremlins with the new ride, but was able to pull it together for a fourth in the feature in front of Kayla Semple.

Nick Spiez’s Cinderella story fell apart with a DNF in sixth, followed by Derek Millman, Larry Lawson, Dave Bradley, and Jason Semple.

The next race for the Outlaw Midgets will take place on June 17 at Full Throttle Motor Speedway (Varney).
