After Busy Months Of May & June, Woodhull Raceway To Take A Night Of July 1st

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – After the busy months of May and June with multiple special events, the Woodhull Raceway will shutter on Saturday, July 1, 2023 to take a much-needed break.

According to track owners, Terry and Niki Brewer, “When we put the 2023 schedule of events together, we decided to do something that has probably never happened in the history of this place and that is take a night off in the middle of the season. We start early with practice and racing and go late into September. The drivers, fans and our employees need a break and there is no better time than around the July 4 Holiday.”

With a multitude of area events and family functions, the July 1 Night Off is a perfect fit to give everyone time to spend away from racing and enjoy a cookout versus thrashing on a race car.

“When racing resumes after the one-week layoff and through the remainder of the season it will be an aggressive schedule. Everyone needs a week away to recharge the batteries prior to a busy second half of the season.” That once again according to the Brewer’s.

July 8, 2023 will find the Woodhull Raceway returning to host the Mid-Season Championship Double Point Show in conjunction with Race of Remembrance Night where an added $200 awaits every feature winner in all weekly classes of competition. Southern Tier Customs, RLB Trucking and Brown’s Used Cars will line up to sponsor the night of action.

“In addition to a night off, we also penciled in a double point show to commemorate the Mid-Season Championship races. Again, this could very well be a first for the track. In the past, Double Point shows were reserved for the last point night of the season in September.”
