Bayston Earns Top-Five In Williams Grove Summer Nationals Finale; Empire State Challenge Awaits

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – Despite a rough start to his weekend in Posse Country that resulted in back-to-back finishes outside of the top-ten, scored 21st at BAPS Motor Speedway on Thursday, July 20, and 16th at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 21, Lebanon, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports turned it on when it counted, ultimately capping Williams Grove Speedway’s annual Summer Nationals program with a top-five outcome on Saturday, July 22. The top-five was Bayston’s seventh of the season, simultaneously padding an ever-growing top-ten column that now includes 27.

Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, No. 5 sprint car, finished fourth in this top-five performance, maintaining his place near the top of the field after starting second on the $20,000-to-win Summer Nationals finale grid. A runner-up performance during dash competition set the tone for Bayston’s eventual top-five.

It was a “home game” all weekend for CJB Motorsports, as their team shop is located right down the street in Carlisle.

“It felt pretty awesome to score a top-five at Williams Grove Speedway, especially after rolling out a new car featuring TrueTimber’s Strata pattern. We can’t thank them enough for their support,” Bayston said. “Starting position plays such a big role, especially at a high speed place like Williams Grove. We used a similar set-up package both nights, which really goes to show how important the starting position actually is. It’s always great to have the opportunity to race in our team’s own backyard. We’re going to utilize our shop pretty heavily the next week or so as we begin to prepare for the next busy stretch.”
