Dave Bradley Dominates Outlaw Midget Feature At Sunset Speedway

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OUTLAW MIDGET RACING CLUB – INNISFIL, ONT – The streak of podiums at Sunset Speedway led to success for Dave Bradley on Saturday night, as he captured a checkered flag of his own.

Mikey Homewood got his first heat win of 2023 in front of Warren Mahoney, Mike Bradley, Larry Lawson, Rob Harrison, Fred Homewood, Glenn Raymond, and Jason Metcalfe.

Nick Spiez captured the victory in the second qualifier ahead of Kayla Semple, Dave Bradley, Kevin Spiez, Derek Millman, Zach Millman, and Russ Couture. Jason Semple failed to finish after seeing the tire come off of his racecar mid-way through.

When it came time for the main event, Dave Bradley started on pole and looked to separate himself from the rest of the field. Despite a couple restarts mid-way through, he was able to withstand the challenge from the field each time and put distance between himself and field. He’d cruise to victory with 25 laps led.

Mikey Homewood has continued to improve each week with his new build, and that showed by working his way up to the runner-up spot with just nine laps on the board. He looked as though he was set to close the gap between himself and Bradley at times, but was unable to en route to second. Warren Mahoney completed the podium in front of Larry Lawson and Rob Harrison.

Mike Bradley rebounded from a spin on the opening lap for sixth ahead of Kevin Spiez, who had a spin of his own. Jason Metcalfe placed eighth, followed by Glenn Raymond and Fred Homewood. Jason Semple, Nick Spiez, Russ Couture, Derek Millman, and Kayla Semple rounded out the field.
