Tony Stewart Racing & Donny Schatz Finds Top-Ten In Ironman 55 Finale; All Eyes On Knoxville

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TONY STEWART RACING – BROWNSBURG, IN – Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing put together consistency in their weekend at the legendary highbanks of I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, not only securing back-to-back top-ten scores with overall finishes no worse than ninth, but the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion was on the heels of progress both evenings, advancing one position in Friday’s preliminary before climbing five on Saturday.

The Fargo, North Dakota, native is now sixth in the World of Outlaws championship standings, padded by 25 top-ten scores in 45 A-Main attempts.

As mentioned, Schatz, ace of the Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, MadJax XSeries, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, earned results no worse than ninth in the Missouri pair, finishing ninth in the Ironman 55 opener before crossing the line seventh in the 55-lap, $20,000-to-win finale on Saturday.

With Ironman 55 action now complete, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing can now turn their attention toward the Sprint Car Capital of the World, ready to embark on another Knoxville Nationals campaign that is set to commence Wednesday, August 9. The 2023 edition will award an $185,000 top prize on Saturday, August 12.

Schatz is an 11-time champion of the prestigious event, scoring his most recent in 2022.
