Andrews Scores Back-To-Back Top-Tens In AFCS Doubleheader At Fremont Speedway

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CHRIS ANDREWS RACING – SANDUSKY, OH – An Attica/Fremont Championship Series (AFCS) doubleheader at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, resulted in back-to-back top-ten scores for Sandusky, Ohio’s Chris Andrews, capping the early August weekend with a pair of outcomes no worse than seventh, that of which the result of major forward progress.

Andrews, ace of the Chris Andrews Racing, Ohio Truck Sales, Fleet Capital, Cintas, Ohio Peterbilt, Kenworth of Cleveland, Toledo Spring, NAPA Fremont Auto Parts, Burdue Insurance, TruckParts4U.com, No. 15C sprint car, kicked-off the AFCS double with a fifth-place finish on Friday, August 4, driving ahead three spots after launching the program with a heat race victory.

The following evening on Saturday, August 5, Andrews recorded the aforementioned seventh-place finish, powering forward ten positions after starting from row nine. The former two-time Attica Raceway Park track champion was forced to start deep after missing a heat race transfer position, racing on to win the evening’s consolation B-Main.

Andrews was the second-fastest overall qualifier in Saturday’s program.

“Overall, a great weekend for the team. Had to start deep on Saturday, but we were able to climb ourselves out of a hole and that shows a lot. Just really proud of our efforts,” Andrews explained. “We’re learning a lot this year and I’m sure we’ll be able to put all of this to good use during these last few months of the season.”
