Dennis Erb, Jr. Sixth In Quad Cities 150 Finale; Mississippi Thunder Up Next

Story By: RYAN DELPH / DENNIS ERB RACING – CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – The month of August wrapped up for the #28 team on the 1/4-mile oval at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa from August 24-26.

The three-day World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series weekend – dubbed the ‘Quad Cities 150’ – started with a pair of $10,000 to win preliminary programs. Last Thursday night in the opener, Dennis Erb, Jr. won his heat race prior to finishing an impressive runner-up in the 35-lap feature behind only victor Bobby Pierce.

In Friday’s portion of the weekend, Dennis placed third in his loaded heat race and later picked off seven competitors during the 35-lapper en route to a strong fourth place effort behind only winner Pierce, Chris Madden, and Brandon Sheppard.

When Saturday rolled around in the Hawkeye State, a whopping $30,000 payday was up for grabs in the finale of the ‘Quad Cities 150’ weekend. Dennis secured a heat race triumph and later redrew the outside of the front row prior to the start of the 80-lap headliner. Although he did not officially lead a lap, Dennis found himself near the front of the field throughout the contest before slipping to sixth at the checkers behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard, Tanner English, Ryan Gustin, Chris Madden, and Brian Shirley. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout still sits ninth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings exiting the ‘Quad Cities 150.’

Two more World of Outlaws Late Model Series programs await the Dennis Erb Racing team over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Dennis will invade Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin on Friday, September 1 before traveling to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota on Saturday, September 2. Both shows this weekend will boast a $20,000 first place prize.
