Rod Conley Fourth In Harold Hardgrove Memorial; Busy Labor Day Weekend Ahead

Story By: RYAN DELPH / CONLEY MOTORSPORTS – WHEELERSBURG, OH – Rod Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and his #71R team headed south to Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Saturday, August 26 for the 12th edition of the ‘Harold Hardgrove Memorial.’

The Valvoline Iron-Man Series presided over the Super Late Model special event, which boasted a whopping $15,022 first place prize.

Rod laid down the fourth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to slipping back to fourth in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in the 50-lap headliner, “Hot Rod” steered past four competitors en route to a strong fourth place performance behind only victor Josh Rice, Skylar Marlar, and Greg Johnson!

A huge Labor Day holiday weekend awaits the Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams. Both Rod and R.J. Conley are set to invade the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on September 1-2. A $10,000 winner’s check will be on the line later tonight in an unsanctioned show, while the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will roll into PRP on Saturday to preside over a $15,000 to win throwdown.

Rod will then wrap up his hectic holiday weekend on Sunday evening, September 3 at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, as a $5,000 payday will be up for grabs in the annual running of the ‘Baltes Classic.’
