Justin Whittall Looks Forward To Williams Grove’s National Open This Weekend

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JW MOTORSPORTS – VINCENTOWN, NJ – A shortened weekend due to weather, but Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports finally made their return to sprint car competition, resuming their 2023 campaign with a visit to familiar territory; Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Whittall’s return, sidelined due to mandated concussion protocol, resulted in an 11th-place performance on Friday, September 22. The laps will prove vital for the Garden State warrior, as The Grove is set to host its annual National Open featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday, September 29-30.

The ace of the JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, Prime Composite Innovations, K Seal, No. 67 sprint car is certainly no stranger to the Mechanicsburg half-mile, earning multiple top-tens already in 2023, as well as a victory in 2021.

Williams Grove Speedway’s National Open will conclude with a $75,000-to-win main event on Saturday, September 30.

“It feels good to be back,” Whittall expressed. “We weren’t even sure if we would have the opportunity to race again this year, so to make it back just in time for the National Open is pretty special. We would have liked a little more lap time prior to the event, but we’ll work off of our notebook and do our best to make forward progress.”

Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports will continue their 2023 campaign with Williams Grove Speedway’s 61st Champion Racing Oil National Open on Friday and Saturday, September 29-30. Saturday’s finale will award a $75,000 payday.
