CJB Motorsports & Spencer Bayston Ninth At Sharon; All Roads Lead Next To The Grove

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – It was an up and down weekend in the Buckeye State for CJB Motorsports and Spencer Bayston, but the ups definitely outweighed the downs, ultimately concluding their two-race sweep through Ohio with a top-ten score at Hartford’s Sharon Speedway on Saturday, September 23.

Bayston, a World of Outlaws winner in Pevely, Missouri, this season, finished ninth in his Sharon invasion, commencing the evening’s A-Main from 12th on the grid. The top-ten stat bumps Bayston’s season total to 38, ten of which accomplished within the top-five.

As mentioned, Bayston’s weekend also included a down, forced to end his main event campaign at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday, September 22, as the result of contact with the outside retaining wall. The former World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year, and ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, started 14th on Eldora’s Befour the Crowns Showdown grid.

“Friday was tough for us…not the showing we wanted. I needed to do a better job in the heat race to get us closer to the front for the main, but unfortunately, things didn’t turn out that way,” Lebanon, Indiana’s Bayston expressed. “It felt good to rebound and end Saturday with a positive outcome. We made progress every time we were on the track and that’s important.

“I’m looking forward to some extra time at the shop over the next few weeks,” Bayston added. “The team deserves the time at home.”

Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with Williams Grove Speedway’s 61st Champion Racing Oil National Open on Friday and Saturday, September 29-30. Saturday’s finale will award a $75,000 payday.
