Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – After having to postpone the originally scheduled 2023 Awards Banquet due to various conflicts, the ownership of the Woodhull Raceway has announced that Saturday, December 9 and 16 will be the dates for the annual affair.
The Nikk L Brew Restaurant located on Main Street in downtown Canisteo, NY will be the site of the 2023 Woodhull Raceway Awards Banquet. The facility is owned by Woodhull Raceway owners and promoters, Terry and Niki Brewer.
For obvious reasons including keeping ticket prices affordable, the Brewer’s wish to hold the banquet at their owned facility, however due to limited seating capacity the event will be held on two dates.
Saturday, December 9, 2023 will see the top point finishers in the Insinger Performance Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman and the Doug Gross Construction RUSH Crate Late Models take center stage as the top ten in each division will receive their point fund money and hardware.
The following Saturday, December 16 will find the Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks, KMD Excavation Hobby Stocks as well as the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s Mini Stocks, Front Wheel Drives and Youth Warrior Divisions congregating at the Nikk L Brew where the top point finishers will also receive their awards.
To be eligible for hardware and point fund money, the competitors in each division must have competed in at least half of the races that were run in 2023.
Rookie Awards will be presented to George Schweigart Jr., Marshall O’Brian, Bradly Morseman, Jaden Stone and Andrew Thomas in their respective classes.
Other awards include Sportsmanship, Dedication to Motorsports, Media and Perseverance Awards.
Cocktail hour starting at noon both days will proceed a mouth -watering buffet style meal at 1:00 pm with awards to follow at each banquet.
Plenty of free parking is available at the rear of the Nikk L Brew, Street Side and across the street in the newly renovated Village of Canisteo Parking Lot.
Drivers that are to receive hardware and point fund money are required to be in attendance and dressed in appropriate attire.
Tickets are priced at $20/person and can be paid at the door upon entry.

Work is already underway regarding the 2024 Woodhull Raceway Schedule of Events which will begin with the Annual Woodhull Raceway Arnot Mall Car Show in March of 2024.
