Casella Waste Returns To Stafford Motor Speedway Family Of Sponsors In 2024

Story By: SCOTT RUNNING / STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY – STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT – Last season at Stafford Speedway, Casella Waste Systems added to their contingency program sponsorship by becoming the title sponsor of the Casella Waste Open 80.

Casella Waste Systems will return to Stafford Speedway in both capacities for the 2024 season. Casella will once again sponsor the Casella Waste Open 80 set for Friday, June 7th as well as offering a weekly $125 bonus to each SK Modified® feature event second place finisher. Casella’s contingency contribution brings the SK Modified® feature second place payout up to $1,400.

“We’re happy to be partnered back up with Stafford,” said explained Mark DiMauro, Sr., Division Manager for Casella Waste in Connecticut. “The partnership with Stafford has been great for us at Casella both business-wise and professional-wise. We know what it takes to get a race car to the track and it’s a big job to get the car to the track every Friday night, so happy to do whatever we can to be able to help out the weekly competitors. We’re really looking forward to the Casella 80, it should be another exciting night of racing.”

In addition to their race and contingency sponsorships, Casella Waste will be featured as the primary sponsor of the #3 SK Modified® car of Troy Talman as well as the Sr. Outlaw kart of Mike DiMauro, Jr. on Monday Nights as part of the Wild Thing Karts program. Casella will also serve as a sponsor the #76 SK Light car of Ron Midford, Jr. and for the first time, Casella will be a sponsor in the Late Model division on Chris Meyer’s #87 car.

The first Casella Waste Systems bonus of the 2024 season will be paid out at the 52nd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler®, set for April 27-28. The NAPA Spring Sizzler® kicks off on Saturday, April 27th and will consist of two 40-lap NAPA Duel qualifying races for the Open Modified division. The 40-lap races will each pay $3,500 to win and will set the field for Sunday’s NAPA Spring Sizzler®. Stafford’s Late Model, Limited Late Model, and Street Stock divisions will complete Saturday’s racing program with qualifying and feature racing.

Sunday, April 28th will play host to the $20,000 to win 52nd NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler®. Filling out Sunday’s racing card will be qualifying and feature racing for the SK Modified® and SK Light Modified divisions along with last chance qualifiers for the NAPA Spring Sizzler®.
