Utica-Rome’s May 10th Program Rained Out; Thunder On the Thruway Event Now May 24th

Story By: CHRIS MOORE / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – Rained out.  The Friday, May 10 F.X. Caprara Car Companies Thunder on the Thruway Series event at Utica-Rome Speedway has been nixed due to rain.

Event No. 2 of the six-race series will now be run two weeks from today: Friday, May 24.

The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds will headline the weekly affair going for 30 laps and a $4,000 top prize.

The Taylor’s Trailers Crate 602 Sportsman and Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks will also run for an increased purse, and the Sportsman top prize jumps to $1,500 and the Pro Stocks jump to $1,000.

The Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders will also be on the docket for weekly racing, along with the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series.

Attention now turns at the ‘Home of Heroes’ to the Kubota High Limit Sprint Car Series next Friday, May 17.

The winged warriors of the 410 Sprint Cars invade the half-mile oval for the third consecutive year, this time with a $12,000 top prize on the line.

Some of the sport’s biggest names including Brad Sweet, Tyler Courtney, Justin Peck, Rico Abreu, and a host of others will be on hand for the event.

Fonda, N.Y.’s Danny Varin upended the All-Star Circuit of Champions stars the last time the 410 Sprint Cars took to the Route 5 oval.

Several members of the ‘Pennsylvania Posse’ are expected to be on hand as well for the exciting night of racing.

Accompanying the lightning-fast 410 Sprint Cars will be the 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds for a 30-lap main event.

Utica-Rome grandstand admission is $40 for Adults, $20 for Kids (ages 6-12) and Children 5 and under are FREE.

Utica-Rome pit admission is $45 (Members), $40 (Non-Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children (ages 5 and under).
