Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – The Woodhull Raceway will open the month of June with the Annual Ted Morseman Sr. Mini Stock Dash for Cash Event in addition to a Regular Super 7 Show featuring all of Woodhull’s weekly divisions including the Insinger Performance Modifieds, Hometown Excavation Crate Sportsman along with the Empire Crushing RUSH Crate Late Models. Also in action will be the Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks and the Sawyer’s Camper and RV Service and Repair Hobby Stocks. Rounding out the card will be a pair of Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s sponsored divisions in the Youth Warrior’s plus the Quad C featuring a mix of front and rear wheel driven 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks.
In addition to plenty of excitement on the High Banked One-Third of a Mile Oval the fans will get in on the action as it will be Autograph Night where drivers get up close and personal with the paying public. Also, the traditional Bed Sheet Banner Contest will take place where prizes will go out to those making and displaying their creative art skills.
Banners can consist of about anything the creator’s skills will allow including logos of race teams, murals of race cars that compete weekly at the facility, car numbers or driver’s names. Use your own imagination and who knows, you could be a winner.
Ted Morseman Sr. was the patriarch of the Racing Morseman Family and albeit he passed away a few years ago his memory lives on through his son, Teddy Jr. and daughter, Danielle Thomas and his grandchildren Bradly and Katlyn who are all current racers at the track. On the other side of the Morseman tree, you have the likes of Buddy, Russ, Russ IV and Izzabella so when they all show up on any given race night at Woodhull there is no less than seven of them doing battle in everything from the Woodhull Warrior Division right up through the Modifieds.
Pit gates for the June 1, 2024, event open at 3:30 pm with Main Grandstand seating opening at 4:30 pm.
Woodhull offers an Early Bird Special where $1 comes off the Adult General Admission ticket price the first hour the main gates are open. Senior Citizens (+62) and kids (8-12) with an adult also receive discounts.
A pair of repeat marketing partners will return to Woodhull to co-sponsor the night of action including Welsh Well Drilling and Kuhn’s Ventures LLC Spray Foam Insulation both of Addison.
Welsh Well Drilling is located at 11597 CR. 119 just outside of Addison and offers everything from well drilling to complete installation of pumps and pump repairs.
