Jason Metcalfe Goes Back-To-Back in Outlaw Midget Competition

Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / OUTLAW MIDGETS – INNISFIL, ONT – As the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil enter the second half of the season, there is one competitor who is asserting himself ahead of the competition. Jason Metcalfe picked up his second series victory in a row at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night.

Metcalfe started off his night well in winning the opening heat, but found himself sitting on the sidelines in his second qualifier. He wasted no time rebounding in the feature, quickly putting himself inside the top-three.

Jason Metcalfe then out-battled Rob McCall for the lead, driving away in the late stages en route to his second straight victory. Russ Couture and Kayla Semple each won a heat, before placing second and third in the feature respectively.

Holligan Racing showed well at Sunset, with Dave Inglis and Rob Harrison completing the top-five. Kevin Spiez turned a heat win into a sixth ahead of Tyler King, Wayne McKibbon, Fred Homewood and Adam Tyo.

Rookie Kurt Lawton rebounded from a spin in qualifying for 11th, ahead of Brett Dorion. Rob McCall was disqualified in post-race inspection, while Mikey Homewood and Nick Spiez did not take the green flag.

Jason Metcalfe now holds a 30-point advantage over Russ Couture and Kevin Spiez in the series standings.

The Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil are back in-action this coming weekend with their second visit of 2024 to Peterborough Speedway.

The Outlaw Midgets are proud to be sponsored by Canadian Tire Innisfil, Falcon Fire & Services, and TM Branding for the 2024 season.
