Cole Huard, Chris Natoli Cash-In During October Finale At Weedsport Kartway

Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT KARTWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – Weedpsort Kartway closed its 2024 season on October 26-27 with Cole Huard and Chris Natoli collecting PRO Clone 360 victories worth more than $4,000 in total.

Coming in from Bryan, Ohio, Huard entered Weedsport for the first time on Saturday and walked out with the biggest winner’s check in kartway history, as he topped 23 other PRO Clone 360 competitors for a $3,000 pay day in his No. 529 machine. Huard snagged the lead early on and lead the majority of the 50-lap event, holding off a hard charging Seth Whitney, Quentin Graham, Trent Smith and Jared Costello.

The Octoberfest VI main event on Saturday paid more than $6,500 in prize money, with a minimum of $100 going to each feature starter. Tanner Emmons, Kayla Joseph, Nick McGill, Chris Natoli and Riley Begy completed the top ten running order.

Natoli would claim $100 from Precision Racing Products as the top qualifier in time trials with Smith earning $150 from Velez & Son Designs as the best appearing kart.

On Sunday it would be Natoli topping Smith, Begy, Dan Marsden and Emmons in the make-up Short Port Shootout 30 for PRO Clone 360, earning his first $1,000 pay day at Weedsport. Once again, Natoli also claimed $100 as the Precision Racing Products fast timer.

The other PRO event on the weekend was a 25-lap special for PRO Clone Super Heavy on October 27 and it would be Trent Smith walking away to the victory worth $150. McGill would claim second ahead of Adam Kouk.

Aside from PRO events, there were several points races on the weekend with track championships on the line in all classes.

In Jr. Red Clone, Bryson Herriven came into the weekend trailing in the season long point standings to Clark McGruder. However, a pair of victories on the weekend helped Herriven to surge to the Jr. Red championship. Herriven topped McGruder and Cole Pike in Saturday’s main with Eli Reid and Harloe Russell trailing on Sunday.

Jr. Green Clone would play out the same as Jr. Red Clone, as Luke Holmes swept the weekend to overcome Ryan Barry in the race for the Jr. Green title. Holmes edged Mason Simmons and Barry in racing action on both Saturday and Sunday.

Jr. Purple Clone once again saw a full sweep by Levi Herriven, who won every heat and feature event in the class at Weedsport this season. Laina Stewart and Richard Yelle III chased Herriven on Saturday with Stewart and Chase Faucett trailing on Sunday.

Joey Surman would secure the Jr. Blue Clone title over the weekend in his No. 3J, but it would be Parker Allen driving to the division win on Saturday night. Allen topped Surman and Joey Axton on his way to the win. On Sunday it would be Savannah Simmons earning the victory over Allen and Surman.

Surman doubled down in the championship department as he also earned the Jr. Unrestricted title, while sweeping Unrestricted events at the track on October 26-27. Surman bested Genavieve Bartlett and Simmons on Saturday while topping Troy Hutton and Simmons on Sunday.

Clone Light was a runaway for Seth Whitney in 2024, earning the championship by nearly 100-points. Whitney claimed yet another Light victory on Saturday over Quentin Graham and Dan Marsden, while Tanner Emmons took the win on Sunday over Whitney and Riley Begy.

Clone Heavy looked very much similar for Whitney, claiming yet another championship while also sweeping the weekend in the No. 505. Whitney’s Saturday win came over Trent Smith and Chris Natoli, while Sunday’s score topped Natoli and Mike Farina.

The Clone Super Heavy title was won by Jordan Sullivan in 2024. Saturday’s Super Heavy feature saw Nick McGill return to victory lane over Sullivan and Adam Stasila. Sunday would belong to Sullivan ahead of Eddie Mitchell and McGill.

With the 2024 season now complete, information will soon be available on a year-end celebration of another successful season at Weedsport.
