Chris Andrews Back In Top 10 At Fremont; Four Rounds Of OH Sprint Speedweek Ahead

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CHRIS ANDREWS RACING – SANDUSKY, OH – It’s been a hard and frustrating stretch for Chris Andrews and Chris Andrews Racing, missing the top ten in each of their outings since finishing fifth at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, May 13. But despite a roller coaster ride in finding comfort aboard the Ohio Truck Sales/Fleet Capital No. 15C sprint car, things are starting to turn up, highlighting the recent weekend with a top-ten score at Fremont on Saturday, June 3.

Andrews, who repped Lee Potter’s No. 28 in his visit to “The Track That Action Built,” finished eighth in his top-ten outcome, kicking off Fremont’s Attica/Fremont Championship Series (AFCS) program with a heat race victory. The Sandusky, Ohio, native now owns three top-ten performances on the year, all of which at the Fremont oval. Andrews’ best finish of the season occurred on opening night when the former two-time Attica Raceway Park track champion finished fourth.

Other weekend results include finishing 12th at Attica on Friday, June 2.

“Things are improving. It’s easy to get frustrated, but we have to remind ourselves to take a step back and look at the bigger picture,” Andrews stated. “I can’t say enough about this team. They continue to work hard and maintain motivation despite our results. We have a stout weekend ahead. Wouldn’t be a bad time to really turn things around.”

Chris Andrews and Chris Andrews Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with four rounds of Ohio Sprint Speedweek featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions. Andrews’ Speedweek campaign will feature Attica Raceway Park on Friday, June 9, Fremont Speedway on Saturday, June 10, Wayne County Speedway on Sunday, June 11, and Eldora Speedway on Friday, June 16.
