Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – For the second consecutive year, Woodhull Raceway owners and promoters, Terry and Niki Brewer will host the Race of Remembrance Night at the historic Steuben County Facility.
“We have lost so many great people over the years that were a big part of this track. Drivers, sponsors, fans, employees and others have passed away. Far too many to have a Memorial Night for each one, so we have this Race of Remembrance Night where we can honor all our fallen friends.” That according to the Brewer’s.
Traditionally Woodhull has George, Jim and Alice Williams Memorial Nights specifically for those deceased members of the family that built and promoted the track for the first thirty-three years of its existence.
However, the Race of Remembrance Night is for all the others that meant so much to making the Woodhull Raceway what it has become today.
“Last year was our first RoR Night and it was met with an overwhelming response with a slew of people ordering commemorative signs which were all hung in a high-capacity area for all fans and drivers to enjoy. It brought back a lot of great memories of the men and women in our local race community that we have lost during the past fifty-nine-year history of Woodhull.”

Race of Remembrance Signs are economically priced at just $25.
Also, on the card for the night of race action it will be Mid-Season Double Point Night for all the Great 8 Classes including the Insinger Performance Modifieds, the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Doug Gross Construction RUSH Crate Late Models and the Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks. The KMD Excavation Hobby Stocks as well as the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s Mini, FWD and Youth Warrior Divisions.
Mid-season Double Points is something new that was included into the 2023 Woodhull Raceway Schedule of Events, a trend that is normally reserved for season ending shows and, in many cases, the Double Point Shows can determine the outcome of the point battles which will be settled on Saturday, September 9.
In addition, the Brewer’s will kick in an extra $200 to each Adult Class feature winner as a token of their appreciation for being a part of Race of Remembrance Night at the track.
“This is an event that will grow in the future. With the huge response from last year coupled with numerous inquiries already regarding this years, July 8 event the Race of Remembrance Night will be a part of our program for years to come.”
Pit gates for the July 8 program open at 3:30 pm with Main Grandstand Seating an hour later at 4:30 pm.
The Woodhull Raceway offers an Early Bird Special offering $1 off the Adult GM Ticket Price for the first hour the Main Grandstand Gates are open.
