Schatz Battles At The Front At Wilmot; Big Week & Big Money On Upcoming Agenda

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TONY STEWART RACING – BROWNSBURG, IN – A short weekend in the heart of the Midwest, but still productive for Fargo, North Dakota’s Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, ultimately capping Wilmot Raceway’s annual Larry Hillerud Memorial Badger 40 with a fourth-place score on Saturday, July 8. The ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion led 15 laps in his top-five pursuit, losing the top spot to eventual winner, Carson Macedo, with a turn four slider on lap 16.

With action in the Central Time Zone now complete, Schatz, ace of the Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, MadJax XSeries, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, will now turn his attention east, ready to invade the Buckeye State for a five-race stretch beginning with Attica Raceway Park’s annual Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday, July 11. Schatz is a four-time Doty Classic champion, which will award a $15,000 top prize in the newest edition.

Schatz’ tour of the Buckeye State will continue with four straight days at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Wednesday through Saturday, July 12-15. In consecutive fashion, Eldora will host the Eldora Million preliminary on Wednesday, the $1,002,023-to-win Eldora Million on Thursday, the Knight Before the Kings Royal on Friday, and the $175,000-to-win 40th Kings Royals on Saturday.

Donny Schatz is a five-time Kings Royal champion, earning his most recent crown in 2018.
