Greg Wilson Finds Podium In Spoon River Visit; All Stars & IRA On Upcoming Agenda

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GREG WILSON RACING – BENTON RIDGE, OH – It was an elbows-up weekend in the Land of Lincoln for Greg Wilson and Greg Wilson Racing, joining the All Star Circuit of Champions for a two-day stretch at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Illinois, and Red Hill Raceway in Sumner, Illinois, on Saturday and Sunday, July 22-23.

The two-day campaign nearly resulted in back-to-back top-tens for the Benton Ridge, Ohio, native, opening action with a podium score at Spoon River, followed by an 11th-place finish at Red Hill. Impressive enough, each of Wilson’s efforts were the product of forward progress.

Wilson, ace of the Hercules Tires/DNC Hydraulics/Ohio Logistics Warehousing and Transportation No. W20 sprint car, finished third in his Spoon River podium outcome, advancing six positions from the inside of row five. The former All Star champion secured third with one to go, utilizing the speedway’s bottom groove to earn most of his progress.

Wilson’s podium at Spoon River Speedway increased the Buckeye’s top-five total to five on the season, two of which occurring with the USCS Thunder Tour in a two-day sweep through Tennessee.

“Overall, a great effort by everyone on this team. Our partners, the team, my family…it’s not easy competing with the level of talent that’s out here with the All Stars, so we’re proud to come out here and do it,” Greg Wilson stated. “Our plan is to bounce around the Midwest a little bit. Our initial thoughts are to join the All Stars again on Wednesday, then move into Wisconsin with the IRA. We’ll see where the road takes us.”
