Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – For the second consecutive year the 360 Empire Supe Sprints will make their way to the Woodhull Raceway where Robbie Stillwaggon of Burlington, New Jersey will try and defend his 2023 victory.
“The ESS 360 Sprints always go over well here at Woodhull, stated track owner, Nikki Brewer. This will only be the lone appearance for them at Woodhull in 2024 so you can bet there will be a great crowd on hand. Most of the drivers have been here enough times over the years they know how to get around this place and its always a great show.”
The Empire Super Sprints will be joined on the card by the Insinger Performance Modifieds, Hometown Excavation Crate Sportsman, Empire Crushing RUSH Crate Late Models, Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks, Sawyer’s Camper and RV Service and Repair Hobby Stocks, Wicked Tee’s Quad C and Warrior Divisions.
Pit Gates for the July 27, 2024, show open at 4:00 pm with Main Grandstand Seating gates swinging at 4:30 pm.
2022/2023 ESS Champion, French Canadian pilot, Jordan Poirier will lead the charge of ESS regulars including the likes of Jordan Thomas, Parker Evans, Johnny Smith, the father/daughter duo of Billy and Emily VanInwegen, Jonathan Preston the Juice Jared Zimbardi and many others.
However, all eyes will be on some of the more most prolific drivers to cinch the belts and should No Panic Davie Franek make the tow from his New Jersey base it will send shockwaves through the pit area.
Franek is having a great 2024 bouncing all up and down the east coast running both 360 and 410 Sprints. He likes Woodhull and has wins there in the past.
Likewise, Danny Varin of Fonda, NY is having a career year focusing 100% of his attention onto 360 and 410 Sprint Car Racing.
The same holds true with South Onondaga, NY speedster, Shawn Donath who had a breakout season in 2023 which included a podium finish at Woodhull.
The very best of the best will converge on Woodhull and with Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY just 50 miles away running ESS the night before it will entice more 360 teams into the area for a two-night gig versus stand along shows at each venue.
The July 27, 2024, event at Woodhull will pull the curtain on another month or racing as the track looks onto August where things will really begin to heat up with several extraordinary events listed below and drivers will make their last push towards point championships in all seven weekly divisions.
