Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Mother Nature has not been good to several northeast race venues over the past few months including the Woodhull Raceway who lost to rain their third event in the past seven scheduled nights of racing.
Afternoon showers coupled with a steadier rain later in the day forced track owners Terry and Niki Brewer to throw in the towel on the September 23 event.
However, the track ownership and management team have decided to make-up the event and give it another try on the following Saturday, September 30.
It was announced on the tracks Facebook that the Insinger Performance Modifieds will be back competing for a winners check of $2,500 to win the thirty lap A-Main.
In addition, the originally scheduled twenty-five lap, $1,500 to win NAPA Crate Sportsman feature event will go off as planned.
Rounding out the card it will be the Doug Gross Construction RUSH Crate Late Models, Southern Tier Customs Street Stocks, KMD Excavation Hobby Stocks and Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s Mini Stocks and Front Wheel Drives will all go their regular twenty lap distances. The Wicked Tee’s Youth Warriors have completed their season.
The previously rained out Southern Tier Customs King of the Bull Ring will be made on as part of the night of action, however due to time constraints the King of the Bull Ring Mini Stock and FWD will be rolled over to 2024.
Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween best attire as there will be prizes handed out including Woodhull Merchandise and other gifts to those that enter the facility wearing costumes.
Racers and fans are reminded that gates and start times for the September 30, 2023 event will open one hour early with pit gates at 2:30 pm, grandstands at 3:30 and the first green waving at 5:30 pm sharp.
The Nikk L Brew Restaurant, Main Street in downtown Canisteo, NY will make a return engagement as the nightly event sponsor of the September 30 show.
For dining at its finest with a menu featuring great food for everyone’s taste, locals are encouraged to support the Nikk L Brew Restaurant where specials are always available including a weekly wing night and pizza specials.
Adult Grandstand Admission is economically priced at $15/ and Woodhull offers an Early Bird Special offering $1 off the Adult GA ticket price for the first hour the main gates are open.
Senior Citizens (+62) and Kids (8-12) are also offered nightly specials with kids 7 and under admitted free with a paid adult.
