Danny Dietrich Scores $5,000 At BAPS: Loaded Labor Day Weekend Agenda Ahead

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – With a busy, yet lucrative Labor Day weekend agenda just around the corner, having the proper momentum kick is utterly important, but in the case of Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing, the momentum shift has already taken off, capping their recent weekend in the Keystone State with a $5,000 victory at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pennsylvania.

Dietrich, now a six-time winner in 2023 including two in the month of August, earned his BAPS spoils from the front row, actually losing the top spot to Tim Buckwalter before reclaiming the point on lap 14. The BAPS triumph was Dietrich’s first of the season, adding the oval to a list that already includes Selinsgrove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway (2), Williams Grove Speedway, and Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio.

In addition to his BAPS victory, Dietrich earned back-to-back fourth-place finishes in recent starts at Williams Grove Speedway (Jack Gunn Memorial) and Lincoln Speedway (Kramer Klash) on Friday and Saturday, August 25-26. With all results considered, the Gettysburg native is now the proud owner of 40 top-ten scores in 2023, 30 of which within the top five.

“We’ve actually had a lot of speed all year, just coming up a little short on the win side,” Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, said. “It’s been a trying year in some respect, but these guys work so hard. Another big money weekend ahead, so the plan is to go out and win a few more.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with a loaded Labor Day weekend agenda beginning with a visit to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 1, followed by the two-day Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, September 2-3. Dietrich’s weekend will conclude with Port Royal Speedway’s annual Labor Day Classic on Monday, September 4.
