Saturday Evening Is Kids Night At Port Royal Speedway Plus Australian Pursuit

Bring the little ones to the Port Royal Speedway Kids’ Night this Saturday and a three-division show featuring the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, Selinsgrove Ford Super Late Models and Dack’s Trucking Limited Late Models.

As an added bonus, the Super Late Models will also be taking part in a make-up Australian Pursuit event in honor of Glenn Stitt.

Along with a lot of great racing, there will be thousands of dollars worth of toys to give away to the kids with gift bags, games, drinks and more. There will also be race cars on display along with several kids activities and Bicycle and Power Wheels races.

All Gates open at 4:00 pm and at that time kids will be able to get their prize tickets and complete all bike registration under the pavilion. Prizes will be in the commercial building on a first come, first serve basis and YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET and be with a parent/guardian.

Bike races ages are as follows: 0-4 Power Wheels, 0-4 Bikes, 5-6 Bikes, 7-8 Bikes, 9-10 Bikes and 11-12 Bikes. All participants are REQUIRED to wear a helmet.

Gates open at 4pm while Racing is scheduled to kick off at 7pm. GA- $20, Students- $10, Pits- $35

Most recently in Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Car action, Anthony Macri picked up the win during Pennsylvania Speedweek on his way to scoring the 2023 Speedweek Championship title.

Mike Wagner currently sits on top of the series points standings with a 5-point advantage over Devon Borden. Jeff Halligan (-135), Dylan Cisney (-245) and Justin Whittall (-340) complete the top-five.

In Super Late Model action, Rick Eckert sits at the top of the point standings by a 80-point margin over Dillan Stake. Hayes Mattern (-90), Jeff Rine (-95) and Gary Stuhler (-210) complete the top-five.

In regards to the Australian Pursuit, the old-time nostalgic event uses a format in that if a driver is passed at any point on the track, they are eliminated from contention and will head to the pits. The last driver remaining at the completion of 10 laps will be crowned the winner and earn $1000 for his eofforts. Second-place will pay $500, third-place will pay $400, fourth will pay $300 and fifth will pay $200. Sixth through tenth will receive $100.

The top ten finishers of the night’s 25-lap feature event in the division will be eligible to compete for the added cash and we will invert the field completely and start in single-file.

Finally in Limited Late Model competition, Devin Hart holds a 10-point advantage over Shawn Shoemaker. Ryan Zook (-20), Taylor Farling (-45) and Eric Irvin (-55) make up the top five in the standings.
