Luke Baldwin Grabs Top-Five Finish In SMART Mod Tour Debut With Sadler-Stanley Racing

Story By: KYLE SOUZA / SADLER-STANLEY RACING – FLORENCE, SC – Sadler-Stanley Racing opened the 2024 season with the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic on Saturday evening at Florence Motor Speedway.

With two drivers battling in the Peanut Patch 99 driving Pace-O-Matic sponsored Modifieds, the first race of the season included ups and downs for the southern Modified team.

Luke Baldwin posted the fastest lap in practice in his Tour-Type Modified debut in the No. 7VA, while Jonathan Cash was 7th in the only practice round of the day. As the South Carolina sun busted through the clouds, Baldwin posted the third fastest qualifying lap, and Cash the 14th.

Baldwin ran around the top-five for the duration of the race and ended with a top-five finish in fifth-place after 99 laps. Cash had some mid-race trouble running inside the top-10, had to pit, and finished 16th in the first race of the season.

Overall, the Sadler-Stanley Racing, Pace-O-Matic team had speed in their PSR Chassis Modifieds and everyone involved looks forward to the second race of the season next weekend at Caraway.

Sadler-Stanley Racing will return to the track next Sunday, March 10, for the second race of the SMART Modified Tour season. Baldwin, Cash and NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Bobby Labonte, a former SMART Modified Tour winner with the team, will drive entries for the team.
