Story By: TIM BALTZ / CAN-AM SPEEDWAY – LAFARGEVILLE, NY – With points on the line in many divisions, drivers need every lap they can to gain valuable points on their nearest competitor.
This past Friday night at the Can Am Speedway the only thing that happened was rain, a lot of it, and Mother Nature claiming another Friday night checkered flag at the Nasty Track of the North.
Heavy overnight rains along with a steady rain through the early morning hours, resulted in many areas of the speedway grounds taking on a lot of water. Can Am Speedway officials made the tough decision to pull the plug on the program, which was to feature all six classes plus the popular driver autographs.
With Championship night set for next week, Can Am officials have decided to move the autograph sessions to next week, along with a full program. Champions in all six divisions will be crowned next week, with racing beginning at 7pm.
